About Us

INTRODUCTION
Biograde’s aim is to become a global manufacturer and distributor of biodegradable resin.
Biograde is an Australian company established in September 2002 which has established infrastructure to:
Manufacture degradable resins  and biodegradable resins in Nanjing China;
Market and distribute degradable and biodegradable resin globally;
And develop innovative formulations and patents and other intellectual property.
We are the exclusive supplier of Biodegradable garbage bag and resin for the 29th Beijing Olympic and Paralympics.

APPLICATION OF BIOGRADE PRODUCTS
Biograde’s starch-based biodegradable resins can be used by manufacturers as a raw material for production into finished products such as shopping bags, compostable garden waste bags, mulch films, food utensils, meal trays, garbage bags and other forms of plastic functional products for uses including domestic items, horticulture, commercial agriculture and aquaculture.

FEATURES OF BIOGRADE’S PRODUCTS
Some of the key features of Biograde’s resin products are:
They can be used in the same machinery for manufacturing as conventional plastics;
They conform to international standards for Biodegradable Plastics;
They are fully biodegradable, compostable and pass ecotoxicity requirements;
They are based on renewable raw materials (namely cornstarch);
They are cost competitive with other forms of biodegradable materials.

WHAT ARE BIODEGRADABLE PLASTICS?
AND HOW DO WE KNOW THEY WORK?

European standard EN 13432 is widely adopted as the international standard for biodegradability of plastics. Biograde’s biodegradable resin fully complies with these requirements. The company has conducted independent testing and has received certification from recognized international bodies such as DinCertco in Europe, The Biodegradable Products Institute in the USA and the Japan BioPlastic Association .The company’s resin has also been registered as a verified product by the Plastics and Chemicals Industries Association (PACIA) in Australia).
The EN13432 Standard requires that biodegradable materials meet 4 requirements:
90% of the material must disintegrate into small fragments less than 2mm in size within 3 months of being placed in Industrial Compost(Test method IOS16929).
90% of the material must biodegrade and change into CO2 and water within 6 months( Test method ISO14855).
The material must meet strict limits for heavy metal content set on a national basis.
The quality of the resulting compost must be safe for the environment. Toxicity tests conducted using plant seedlings and earthworms(Test method OECD 208A and OECD 207).
